Just like a child needs a timely check up from the doctor to make sure he or she is healthy, your doors and windows could use an annual check up to make sure they are in good working condition.
Our Annual Check Up Process
When inspecting your home or business’ windows and doors, here’s what we’ll do in our annual check up:
We’ll Feel for Signs of Air Leakage.
Leaky windows or doors are often drafty, decrease energy efficiency, and allow unwanted moisture into your home. If we notice any of these signs, we will let you know so that you can consider replacing the window(s) or door(s) in question and save on your utility bills.
We’ll Inspect Your Finishes.
Over time, paint and stain can weather away. We want to keep your windows and doors looking fresh. Flaking or peeling paint may mean that it is time to refinish or replace the unit.
We’ll Check for Damaged Exterior Surfaces.
Cracked or deteriorated wood may be a sign that water is getting into your home. Leaks can linger and affect interior walls, floors or ceilings.
We’ll Open and Close Your Doors and Windows.
We want to make sure your moving parts work, and that units close properly. It’s important to replace worn or broken parts to preserve the functionality of your doors and windows.
We’ll Inspect Caulking and Weather-Stripping.
We can reattach loose weather-stripping around windows or doors, and replace material that’s ripped or torn. Same with sealant.
We Can Replace or Repair Locks.
Locks help doors and windows lock out rain, wind, snow and insects. If locks feel loose or don’t work smoothly, it may be time to replace them.
